After being invited by the ZKM Karlsruhe, we developed a projection mapping for the Castle of Karlsruhe for the 300 year anniversary of the City of Karlsruhe.
The soundtrack, composed by SOUNDSELEKTOR, was entirely made using samples recorded inside the castle. By recording typical sounds of the building, like doors, switches, stairs and typical sounds of their usage like sounds of the museum audience walking through the building, sound of specific exhibits, a very unique and individual compositions was made.
The Castle, which offers 300 meters facade, is the architectural centre of the city of Karlsruhe, forming the source of 32 radiating streets. Like ribs of a fan, they form the construct for the unique urban design of the city. This specific design, perseptance of perspective and space where the most influential aspects of this projection mapping.
