Biografie
Bjorn Samson grew up in a small town called Impe not far away from Ghent, Belgium. At a young age he discovered the fresh new electronic sounds of Techno with a capital T from the likes of Dave Clarke, Ritchie Hawtin and Laurent Garnier as well as D'n'B from Aphex Twin, Squarepusher, Roni Size, Goldie to name a few. In that time the first video artists like chris Cunningham & Coldcut started pushing the boundaries in video-clip creation. After finishing Art School as a visual artist he was offered a job by a company based in Monaco, travelling around the world from hotel to hotel to manage audio-visual set-ups for big conferences for companies like Mastercard Worldwide, IIR Events. He developped unique skills in projection and sound and together with his passion for photography and music he discovered the Art of VJ-ing before it became mainstream on big events. Nowadays he is working in a small company 9 to 5 and a Visual Artist performing video based Projection- Mapping & Video-Mixing live on electronic music events during weekends. In the constant evolving media scene he explores the new boundaries in the "VideoLab" to obtain a perfect integration between the projected videos and the music created by DJ's or live performers. The 3D structures created put an extra focus on the artists and are an eye-catcher on every event. Where traditional screens use fixed screen ratios like 4:3 or 16:9 these structures are fully scalable for perfect integration onto the stage. The use of specialist techniques for video-projection complete the artwork in a unique way. In 2012 his structure "DJ Booth" was exposed @ Space VJ Meeting Poland together with the works of other VJ's from around Europe in Olsztyn planetarium during a four day exposition and at various events and festivals in Belgium like Building Beats,WHaM, Jett'Set Festival, Invaders Festival, Djamnesia. Future plans include more International expositions (Shiny Toys Festival, Germany), more Space VJ Meetings and building new structures for events.
